Dear America: We Need to Unite to Get Beyond this Hard Time

Andrew Liverseidge

Dear America,

America today is definitely not what it used to be. The world is an ever-changing place and we the people evolve and sometimes the great country of the U.S has a hard time adapting to the changes we create. I think our country is greatly divided in many ways and I believe that this is not just due to the election. I firmly believe that this anger stems from many years and generations of poor and unfair treatment to many. This also comes at a time where every person has the constant worry of COVID-19 and I believe that this just adds to the stress people are under right now and is leading to all of this built up anger, over flowing.

Yet, I strongly believe that we as a country are attacking this from the wrong angle. When everyone is hurting, we need to come together as one, not to split of as single persons; the country is its strongest when we are one, not when we are divided, especially in this painful hurt-filled time of COVID-19. We now more than ever need to be united to help one another. We do not need to fight over what political candidate we support because at the end of the day, the president is just a part of this country.

Storming the U.S Capitol shows weakness and divides our country and with everything that is already going on in the country, we do not want to open any doors for another country to come and think we are weak and try to take us by force. In conclusion, I view America as the best country in the world, but it is just in a bump in the road to glory; nothing great comes easy; it requires hard work and sacrifice. The same goes for America.

Sincerely,

Andrew Liverseidge
