Dear America, 

The ongoing pandemic, recurring violence, and an important election that has taken place have divided our country into two: the Republicans and the Democrats. 

During the 20th century, it never mattered whether you were a Democrat or Republican, but today things have changed for the worse because of the 2020 election. Because I have different political views than some of my friends, my opinions and beliefs have been judged as being “incorrect” and “unfounded”. Since my beliefs are different, I have been put down as a member of society. My hope for this country is that people don’t judge those for their differences, but celebrate their differences. America, your states like Texas and Alabama have been seen as “red states” while California and New York are seen as “blue states”: but we are still the United States of America, even if it doesn’t seem like it right now. I don’t look at states as either being “red” or “blue” but rather part of a UNITED country. 

America, you are known as the “melting pot”. You are made up of people of all different backgrounds and nationalities. We are a country that was built on differences, which we should be celebrating rather than discriminating. It is time for us as a country to end the ongoing violence that has been occurring for months and to come together as one. My hope for America is that we come together to end the ongoing violence. 

Since 2020, Covid-19 has not only swept through our country, but the whole world as well. Everything has been turned upside down. I am grateful that we have multiple vaccines that have been effective in fighting against this virus. My hope for our country is that we stop focusing on politics and we get Covid-19 under control. 

As of January 20th, we are under a new administration: the Biden administration. Even though we are under the power of a new president, everything isn’t going to turn perfect in a blink of an eye, the healing and unity of this country will take time. We never know what the future of our country will be no matter who holds the power, but as a society, we pray for the best, no matter where we politically stand.

America, I wish you the very best in your future.
