Seniors Defeat Faculty in Annual Seniors vs. Faculty Basketball Game

The gym was filled with thrill and excitement on Friday as students and staff gathered in the gymnasium for the annual Seniors vs. Faculty basketball game, a beloved Minnechaug Regional High School tradition that took place during the final block of the seniors’ last day of school.

The event featured teams of seniors and faculty members competing in a series of fast-paced games. As students and faculty packed the bleachers and cheered on their classmates and colleagues, the atmosphere in the gym quickly became one of the highlights of the day.

At the beginning of the game, each match lasted up to two minutes, with teams rotating throughout the competition. As the event progressed and excitement built, rounds were shortened to 30 seconds, creating an even more energetic atmosphere.

Throughout the afternoon, both teams showcased their incredible spirit, drawing cheers, laughter, and school pride from spectators. Students enthusiastically supported their classmates while also enjoying the exciting—yet somewhat hilarious—opportunity to see their teachers step onto the court.

In the end, the seniors won, earning bragging rights and ending their high school careers with a memorable victory. The event served as more than just a basketball game; it was a celebration of the Class of 2026 and their final day together as students.

For many seniors, the game was the perfect way to close out their high school experience. Surrounded by friends, teachers, and classmates, they were able to share one last “hurrah” before graduation. When the final whistle blew, the crowd erupted in cheers, making it clear that the Seniors vs. Faculty basketball game had once again provided an unforgettable tradition.
