Weather Forecast for the Week

Another round of snowstorms beginning this weekend (3/10-11) with little threat to our area, mainly staying off to our west. About a coating to 2 inches. The main focus is out to Tuesday when a potential blizzard is possible. The usual nor’easter but with an uncommon blizzard. Concerning, to say the least with snowfall this close. As of typing (3/9), weather models are showing roughly 10-18” in the valley. But with it being 4-5 days out, the totals will change. If I had to say, we will probably get 2-5”. It could even just turn into a rainstorm. The rest of the week looks to be average for winter. (Source: NWS https://www.weather.gov/)

What’s Going on in the Weather World?

A cyclone that began near the coast of Australia has continued to live on as it lashes another continent. Cyclone Freddy has, as quoted by Wikipedia, “Very Intense Tropical Cyclone Freddy is the longest-lived tropical cyclone on record, surpassing Hurricane John (1994)’s record of 31 days.” For the last week, it has been stalling between Mozambique and Madagascar, causing major damage and casualties in both countries.
