Minnechaug’s boy’s soccer team had a close win under the lights against Ludlow High School in the Western Mass quarter-finals. Both of the 40 minute halves were full of tension that you could feel radiating throughout the student section, all spectators were on the edge of their seats and then relieved by this much needed win.
Chaug’s boys demonstrated strong teamwork and communication skills throughout the duration of the game, which ultimately led to their great success. But their raw talent truly shined through, their plays were strategic and well thought out and they executed them extremely well.
The Falcon’s two goals were scored by #10, Nick Cianflone, and #19 Nathan Wesloski. They were both assisted by #20, Gavin Goldrick who set them up for success.
Ludlow’s only goal was scored by #9, Evan Dias with an assist from #6, Luke Slatton. When Dias scored the shot that tied up the match, Chaug remained calm and strategized further, leading to their second and final goal of the night.
Chaug had a strong starting lineup, consisting of Chase Henderson, Eli Childers, Nick Cianflone, Benjamin Lopez, JJ Stewart, Cameron Salvador, Tyler Supzack, Nathan Wesloski, Gavin Goldrick, Tyler Jaslenek, and Jack Parastatidis.
Their goalkeeper, Chase Henderson had a multitude of saves which heavily contributed to their victory.
