From percussion to vocals, from digital art to painting, December 11th, 2024 marked the day of Minnechaug’s Art Show and Concert, featuring the band, percussion, choir, and strings. The art pieces featured were from the Clay, Foundations, Graphics, and AP Art classes; a variety of sculptures, collages, pop, and more types of art were put on display for a terrific gallery walk.
Following the art show came the concert, with the Strings Ensemble (consisting of violinists, violists, and a cellist) performing three beautiful compositions. Then a jolly follow-up with the Jazz Ensemble, which starred the trumpets, saxophones, bass guitar, piano, and other brass instruments, as well as a spectacular vocal performance by Ella Gagliarducci in White Christmas.
The last two groups who performed for the MRHS community were the choir (combined, mixed, and Camerata), as well as the Percussion Ensemble and Symphonic Band, ending the night with a festive “Sleigh Ride” performance; all of which performed wonderfully.
Overall, the night was fantastic; beautiful artworks and performances by the MRHS community. Thank you to everyone who helped set up, participated in, and attended both the art show and the concert, and I hope everyone’s holidays are were filled with cheer!
