Weather for the Week
A major arctic blast is in full display this week, with temps not even hitting 40 degrees and cold nights in the teens. An “Alberta clipper” system (which is a fast-moving storm system) will move through the region Wednesday night into Thursday morning. This will bring some snowfall, right now it’s looking like 1-3” here in our area. That won’t be enough unfortunately for a snow day but we may get a 2-hour delay on Thursday. After that, another clipper may move through the region on Sunday before a warmer period of weather should take hold as we enter next week.
What’s Going on in the Weather World?
Towns and cities around Lake Ontario and Lake Erie woke up this weekend with 30-60” of snow due to lake effect snowfall. Snowfall rates were at one time 3” an hour and was so bad that portions of Interstate 90 south of Buffalo had to be shut down and many were stranded in their cars for hours.
