What’s Going on in the Weather World?
The Atlantic Hurricane season started later despite the peak season being in September. The season the past few years has been going nuclear by August but (except for Hurricane Beryl) the summer months have been pretty quiet this year. But now in September we’ve seen Hurricane Francine in Louisiana make landfall, Tropical Storm Gordon and now a potentially dangerous storm forming in the Caribbean. If this storm forms like weather models have been forecasting, this could bring a potential Major Hurricane Helene into the bend of Florida. As of writing, models are keeping this storm into Florida but those living in New Orleans, LA should be keeping an eye on this storm. Below is a picture of one model forecasting 80 mph winds as it makes landfall in the bend of Florida. This information should be taken with a grain of salt as it’s one model of many others and we don’t have a definite location of landfall until it makes landfall.
